Health & Safety

Thomas Learning Centers are committed to the health and safety of your child. Our policies and procedures are strict in this area to ensure the well-being of every child in our care. For example, we emphasize hand washing to reduce the spread of germs. We communicate closely with parents to help prevent infecting other children when contagious illness is present.

All of our Centers conduct regular vision and hearing screenings or offer referrals to qualified agencies. We have a Nurse-on-call available to consult with each Center on a monthly basis or as needed. All Center staff is certified in CPR and First Aid and we know how to respond quickly in case of injury or accident. We are able to administer medication in many cases, following specific government regulations. We also conduct monthly fire drills (and tornado drills in season) to ensure constant preparedness.

We do regular head counts of the children and constantly monitor all areas of our Centers to ensure all children are accounted for. Parents are required to sign children in and to bring the child to a Center staff member before leaving. Anyone picking up a child must be known to the staff or authorized by the parent and able to present valid ID.

Ask your Center Director for a copy of the Parent Handbook, which provides full detail of our Health & Safety procedures.
