Parents' Responsibilities
Preparing
your Child
It is important that you feel good about the environment where you
will be taking your child for care. Children are very sensitive
to their parent's feelings and will pick up on your thoughts, whether
positive or negative. Talk to your child often about the positive
experiences childcare will provide.
On
the first day, let your child choose a toy, blanket or something
else familiar to bring along and stay for a while to help your child
feel comfortable. After the first day, you should not delay leaving,
as longer stays can make the transition more difficult. Our experienced
staff will comfort your child to help make the new environment feel
like home as quickly as possible. It is crucial that you pick up
your child on time so your child won't feel abandoned and to help
your child get used to the new routine.
Emergency
Contact Information
It is the parent's responsibility to notify the Center immediately
if there is a change of address or phone number. The essential information
must be current in case of emergency. For your child's safety, WE
MUST BE ABLE TO REACH YOU!
Parents
are expected to bring their child into the building, wash his or
her hands, and see that he or she is under full supervision of his/her
teacher before leaving the premises. Parents must sign their full
name and the time of arrival and departure in the sign-in book.
Immunizations
and Physical Limitations
Please note that Colorado law requires every child entering a childcare
program to have proof of immunization upon enrollment. Written documentation
of allergies or physical limitations must also be provided in writing
at registration. The records we keep on your family are confidential.
Please read Your Privacy for more information.
Illness
The Center must be notified if your child contracts a contagious
or infectious disease. Re-admittance will occur with a doctor's
statement. For more information on how we provide for children who
are sick, refer to our Parent Handbook or read our FAQ
for additional detail.
Billing
and Payment
As a parent, you are billed for space reserved, not for time at
the Center. Tuition payments are due weekly, either the first day
of attendance or in advance. Prior notification of vacations or
drop-ins is required. Please refer to our Parent Handbook for complete
details on our billing and payment policies.
Communication
Our staff is available at all times to answer questions about your
child, parenting ideas, or any concerns or comments you want to
share. Formal written evaluations are done twice a year and you
have the opportunity to sign up for parent teacher conferences at
that time, too. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet one-on-one
with your child's teacher!
