TLC Teachers & Staff

Your child will grow and play in an atmosphere that combines the best of home and Center care: small groups with fun toys and equipment coupled with the security and reliability of licensed Center care. We have the flexibility and personality you will love.

All of our staff members at Thomas Learning Centers love kids! They enjoy teaching, nurturing and comforting the children and supporting their active imaginations, creativity and growth. We hire only reliable people who are dedicated to your child's early education and positive self-image. We carefully select, train and evaluate each member of our teaching team.

Our staff is available at all times to answer questions about your child, parenting ideas, or any concerns or comments you want to share. Formal written evaluations are done twice a year and you have the opportunity to sign up for parent teacher conferences at that time, too. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet one-on-one with your child's teacher!

The staff at each Center is responsible for expanding on the children's interests through our Creative Curriculum® program. TLC teachers enjoy developing the children's ideas into stimulating programs that engage and delight them. We support our staff with ongoing training and resources. Because we are a small company, our staff enjoys the freedom to create unique learning experiences for the kids. We provide many opportunities for staff members to share ideas and grow professionally.

All TCL staff members undergo background checks at the time of hire and all teachers are trained in early childhood education. All of our teachers are certified in CPR and First Aid. Our Center Directors and Field Supervisors regularly observe the teachers and provide continual feedback to ensure positive interactions with the children.

We use positive discipline techniques that are effective and encouraging for young children. For more detail, refer to our section on discipline.

Our van drivers must be at least 23 years of age with 7 years of good driving and CPR/First Aid certification. They undergo training to drive the van and are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
